In theory, yes; in practice, it's almost impossible to cut this thread
accurately once the fork is assembled; here's why.
When threaded forks are made, the thread on the steerer tube is
usually cut on a lathe before the tube is brazed to the forks
themselves. Once the fork is assembled, it's difficult to fit it in a
lathe.
There are such things as dies for cutting this thread, but they're
usually used for cleaning up or extending a thread that's already
there. If you try to use one to cut a thread from scratch on a
steerer tube, the chances are your thread will not be perpendicular to
the axis of the tube. This will make it hard to adjust the headset
properly at best, and at worst, your headset components won't screw
onto it at all.
BMX forks are relatively cheap; if you need a threaded one, buy a
threaded one and save yourself a lot of grief.
I agree though, that there's no advantage in threadless on a 'bent.
(Actually, I think there's no advantage in threadless, period, but
that's just my opinion!)
