Re: [bentechriders] Re: rear alignment and boom bolts

Bob,

Thanks for the advice. I am not sure what the problem with the lugs are. It
looks like the threads only go part of the way through the lug. I had the frame
powder coated before shipment from Bentech. It might have been a build up of
the powder coating, Anyway I have used a longer bolt with a nut and the boom is
rock solid.

To the best of my knowledge I received the frame with misaligned dropouts. I
received the frame about a month ago and it has been on my workbench up until I
started to assemble it last week. Nothing has fallen on it and I have not
dropped it. I have sent an e-mail to Dom and I am awaiting a reply. Can a LBS
re-align the dropouts?

Thanks again,
Tom

Tom,
You could have shifting problems. Also, increased wear on the chain
because of side loading. Did the frame come to you this way?
if you obtained from BentTech I would talk with them about this
alignment problem, 10 mm offset seems too high to me. On my first
frame I'm about 2-3 mm offset.

On your bolt problem, are the treads bad or is the lug misaligned? I
used bolt through the lugs so I wouldn't have a problem with treads in
the lug. Your idea of a longer bolt with a nut is what I use and have
no problem
