rear alignment and boom bolts   Message List

I am building up a pre welded frameset. After I got the headset,
handle bars, seat, and wheels attached I noticed that when the rear
axle is completly in the dropouts the front of the wheel cants towards
the left chainstay. The front of the rim is 3 cm from the right
chainstay and 2 cm from the left. Is this enough of a difference to
cause poor shifting?

One of the lug that is attached to clamp the boom in place has bad
threads. I have tried several bolts all of which come out stripped.
I was thinking of drilling out the threads and putting a longer bolt
with a nut on the end. Do Ya'll think this would work and do you have
any other ideas?

Thanks
Tom

Bob, Thanks for the advice. I am not sure what the problem with the lugs are. It looks like the threads only go part of the way through the lug. I had the...
