Hello all,
They say there are those who have and those who are yet to do so.
I'm sitting home nursing road rash following a trip to casualty.
I was out on my regular Sunday ride when the rear wheel hit some loose
blue metal and slipped out from under me. It put me down on the left
side at speed. It was so sudden I could do nothing and I skidded along
the rough chipseal on my left side.
The bike received minor damage. A bit of paint, a couple of scratches
and the mesh seat ripped where it wraps round the tube and will need
replacement.
I ended up losing skin on my buttock and elbow and a deep wound to
elbow somehow.
I need to buy a new jersey and nicks too as the ones I was wearing are
in tatters.
I have a Primo Comet 20 X 1.3 slick on the front and a Specialized 26
X 1.25 slick on the back both fairly high pressure tires. This
probably contributed to my lack of traction.
comments welcome,
