Chain rubbing on chainstay   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #462 of 1017 |

I finished my Bentech last fall, and have really enjoyed it.
However,
there is one thing that really bothers me.

I cannot shift the chain to the smallest ring on the rear. When I do
the chain rubs on the chainstay. I see no way possible to fix this
issue the way the chainstay is designed.

Anyone else have this problem? Have you found a way around it?

Burke, Maybe all you need to do is flatten your chainstay another 1-2 inches. This will allow more space for chain to pass the chainstay. Bob ... you ... drop ...

Hi; On my Bentech I had a similar problem. I ended up placing the top idler wheel back farther, right under the seat, so that it holds the chain off the frame....

I don't have this problem with my bike. I let the chain tube extend past the rear brakes and everything's OK. Paul ... From: GuitarMan To:...

Sounds like you need some washers on your axle to put some space between your granny gear and the chainstay. ... From: Bob To: bentechriders@yahoogroups.com ...
