So I am thinking of doing a different long ride next Sunday to involve some more climbing in preparation for Cascade/Hood/Elkhorn/etc and all are welcome to join me...on Sunday 4/26, I will meet all interested parties at BBNS at 8am and then carpool up to Antelope (about 1.5 hours north) to some beautiful countryside...I know Willamette Valley SR is that weekend but I am not doing it and this is the olny weekend that works for me...the bike ride will follow Highway 218 through Clarno to the bustling metropolis of Fossil...we will find a store, eat a hot dog off one of those rolling things, drink a Redbull and then come back the way we came...total distance is about 65 miles...MapMyRide says ~7,000 feet of climbing total...awesome...has some sustained climbs of 6-10 miles...it is also an out and back so faster climbers can shoot ahead on the climbs and then we can regroup if desired (ie you can then stop and wait for me)...here is a MapMyRide link for the Antelope to Fossil portion of the ride to give you a flavor of the route...
Caveats:
-If I don't hear that anyone is joining me, I will leave whenever I feel like it and not show up to BBNS before I leave
-If it looks like sucky weather, I will not be going and will let people know by email
Certainly you can just show up on Sunday at BBNS but if you are really interested, let me know...
I hope to lose 10# on this ride...
