Hey Benchsumo Fans!
I can't remember when I started posting the Hoshitori for this group
but it's been a few years. During that time, I've fathered 3 kids,
changed careers twice, finished a professional certification
program, started another, ... it's been a busy time. I apologize for
not having enough time to really contribute with consistently
interesting commentary.
I enjoy being involved in the functioning of this game on some level
but now that I am committed to 2 posts a day, I feel like sharing
the load - passing the Hoshitori torch on to someone else.
I'm sure there are many fine members who are just itching to unleash
their perspectives on the bench competition each day and here is an
opportunity for them. Take over the Hoshitori for me this
tournament. If you like it, and if there is no outcry in the
benchsumo community then keep it.
I always tended to fall back on reporting on the yusho leaders in my
posts until I took on the Yusho Arasoi posts. Now I find that I can
say all I have time to say with just the Yusho Arasoi so the
benchsumo community would be better served if new blood - a new
voice were to take over the Hoshitori post and find something else
to say each day.
If no one steps forward, I will continue to do my best, but my 3rd
child is due to be born mid-tournament so there may be a very
minimalist tone to the Hoshitori this time around.
Step up on the soap box and be heard! Become the next Hoshitori
Gyoji and amuse us all with your banter.
Wakatanuki
(aka Itachi in other sumogames)
p.s. Don't forget to check out Randomitsuki's Makushita Game. It's a
pre-basho game so you can make your picks anytime before the
tounament and then sit back and watch. It's good for us busy folk!
Also, it's a good way to force yourself to be aware of up and coming
rikishi. The Juryo game is outstanding that way but now no one will
get near Sekitorihood without notice.
