Thank you all for your help and support in making this a great night for our
student-athletes! As we put the final touches on the evening activities, please
be reminded:

•       Coaches and teams will be called up to the stage; the coach will give a
1-2 minute recap of their season. Remember we have 14 teams to recognize.

•       Coaches will announce the JV or Varsity certificate recipients on stage
and acknowledge the “MINDS IN MOTION” and “SCHOLAR” athletes as they are walking
across the stage.  “MINDS IN MOTION” and “SCHOLAR” athletes will have an (*)
next to their names

•       Coaches will announce the All-Sports Booster Sportsmanship winner

•       Only Varsity coaches will announce the Barons Award winner

•       The general session will end with a slide show, followed by break out
sessions in classrooms

Don't forget the last event of the year for the cross-country team:  the B-CC

The bus will be leaving for Hereford HS at 7:25am this Saturday from BCC. 
Anyone on the team who would like attend may do so.  Please show up a few
minutes early to ensure your spot on the bus.  The girls race is at 10am.  We
plan on returning to BCC sometime around 1pm.

1.  The girls team qualified for the State Championship meet on November 14,
through their strong performance at the regional meet at Watkins Glen on
Thursday.  We hope everyone can go up to Hereford High School (same location as
Bull Run meet) to cheer on our runners.

2.  The end-of-season cross country banquest will be Sunday, November 15, at
Guapo's near Tenleytown in Washington.  Invitations were sent out later than
planned.  IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN UP!  Guapo's tells us it can wait until
November 13 for a final count.  A copy of the invitation is attached.

Come and celebrate the end of our first season as a 4A cross-country team.  The
cross country team awards, such as for the Most Valuable Runners, the Most
Valuable Freshmen, the Most Improved Runners, and the Coaches Awards will be
given out following dinner at the banquet.  Letters will be warded the following
week at the November 23 all-sports award night.

Remember the Edgemoor 5k is this Sunday at 8am at Bethesda Elementary.  Show off
the xc fitness you still have from the season.

Directions to the meet:  Head north on I-270 to Exit 11, Montgomery Village
Avenue (Maryland 124), go north towards Montgomery Village.  Go about two miles,
turn left on Stedwick Avenue.  After three-tenths of a mile, Turn right on
Watkins Mill Road.  Go one mile, turn left on Apple Mill Road.  The High School
will be on your right.

It's a good course for spectators.

Please bring snacks and drinks for our runners.

If you are interested in doing a local road race I recommend the Edgemoor 5k. 
It is held at Bethesda Elementary and you can sign up the day of.  Here is the

XC Banquet 11/15!
We've mailed out paper invitations to all of the runners in the directory, but
we didn't have street addresses for 100% of the freshman. The text of the
invitation is below. All XC runners and their families are invited!

At Saturday's meet several parents mentioned that team shirts and sweatshirts
have gone missing. Runners: please check your sports bags and lockers and make
sure you don't have 2 or 3 of something you should only have 1 of. Parents:
please check your laundry and closets and make sure your runner doesn't have
team shirts or sweatshirts with another runner's name in them, or duplicate
shirts.
Please post all found items,or just reply to this email, and perhaps we can
reunite them with their owners.

I am assuming that everyone on the team will be attending the county meet.  If
you know that you will not be attending for whatever reason, I need to know
ASAP.  I need to submit a roster of only those that are running because they are
using a "champion chip" timing system, which is costly.  I need to know by

tempo run on the trail.  I hope everyone is enjoying the start to their 3-day

So it turns out there is no freshman only race.  The JV races are divided into a
fresh/soph race and a jun/senior race.
