Hello all ~ The Boosters and the Athletic Department are undertaking a huge mulch sale fundraiser -- to benefit all teams as well as B-CC's Athletic Department & facilities. Every team is expected to participate and we should do our part. The goal is to raise $20,000 for B-CC teams and athletic facilities. Since most of the same families are involved in XC, Indoor, and Outdoor, let's work as one unit in terms of volunteering to help. We need BOTH parents and athletes to volunteer -- FOOD and SSL hours are provided for participants -- and hopefully that will be some incentive to get involved. Also, each team participating will receive 10% of total proceeds, based on level of participation.
** Running gets considerable support from Boosters and the Athletic Dept (bus to Paul Short for XC; $600 per season to help with costs for awards, banquet, coaches gifts, etc) so we need to do our part to give back.**

Here is how the mulch sale works
Promotion -- Flyer Distribution: March 7, 14, 21, & 28
We target the neighborhoods in Bethesda and Chevy Chase and our athletes knock on doors at every house to give a flyer/order form and tell people about the sale. We will provide a script to help them if necessary. We need parents to volunteer to be a team leader of several groups, driving them to the neighborhoods and acting as a distribution center for more flyers, bottled water, etc.
RUNNING FAMILIES: WE NEED AT LEAST ONE ADULT DRIVER and SEVERAL ATHLETES to volunteer for EACH of the Saturdays in March. More would be better! Volunteers meet at B-CC at 10 AM to get flyers and instructions from Scott Foreman.
NOTE: XC and Indoor families -- March 28 is Couger Relays, so if you could step up on that day, it would help the Outdoor Families.

Sale Days - Delivery Dates: April 11 & 12th and April 18th & 19th
Student and Parent volunteers will arrive at B-CC at 8:00 am. We are asking parents to volunteer their SUV, Station Wagon or Truck and be able to volunteer to drive (you will not be asked to load or unload any mulch). We are also asking parents if willing to rent a cargo van and agree to be a driver. Teams of students will be assigned to each vehicle. Orders will be organized by zip code and address and dispatched with driver and delivery team. The cargo trucks hold the most and assigned teams will follow their truck to unload it.
RUNNING FAMILIES:
Anyone willing to be a rental van driver on any of these days? As a team, we rent a van (and an adult needs to do the actual rental but we'll use team funds) and use it to deliver.
Who can drive their own van or SUV or truck on any of these days? MORE THAN ONE DRIVER is needed each day. PLUS ATHLETES for each car who can LIFT AND DROP OFF MULCH BAGS.

Walk Up Sale: April 25th 9 am @ B-CC
We will also need students and parents to volunteer for the plant sale to help sell and load mulch for walk up sales.
Coffee and donuts will be available in the morning and lunch will be provided mid day on ALL delivery days.
