Hey Sean,
Good to hear you're back on the program.
So many run, so little time...Check out the Club Fat Ass calendar:
http://www.clubfatass.com/events
9 May - North Shore Enduro
http://www.clubfatass.com/events/enduro
- 6 hour run. How fast are 'ya?
6 June - Vancouver 100
http://www.clubfatass.com/events/Vancouver100
- 2x the KneeKnacker course. Probably tougher than you want, but you can
roll-yer-own 50M
13 June - XTC 50K
http://www.clubfatass.com/events/xtc
- only 50K, but since it's my run, I'll design a 50M route for you and you
can own the course record
20 June - Fluffy Bunny
http://www.clubfatass.com/events/FluffyBunny
- one of the toughest trail runs in these parts. 35K, but I'm sure Jess
won't mind if you do it twice. As above.
27 June - Squamish Brick (the STORMY 50M warmup)
http://www.clubfatass.com/events/TheBrick
- it's supposed to be a shakedown run on the STORMY course, but I'll bet
nobody would mind if you did it in one

In sunny North Vancouver, where the snow has given way to tulips
Hi all,
I am looking for suggestions for a 50-miler (my first) sometime between late
May and late June. I had hoped to run Elk Lake but I don't think that I will
have enough long runs to be ready for the 50 miles by then. I do think that
I'll probably run the 50k, though. I would like the run to be driving
distance (loosely defined) from Kamloops.
I have found two possibilities so far - Blackfoot Ultra in Edmonton and the
North Face race in Bellingham. Does anyone have any experience of these
races? What are the trails like? How difficult are the races? Which would
you choose and why? The only trail ultra that I have done is KneeKnacker -
50 miles of that terrain would almost surely be too much .
Any suggestions of other 50 milers to consider in that time frame?
Thanks
Sean.
