Fellow ultrarunners -
The BC Ultra Trailrunning Series had a superb wrap-up at the final event of the
season, Walk In The Park 54km. Race Director Chris Larouche and his team of
volunteers put on a fantastic event on some of BC's best trails. The heat held
off and the rain barely so, to make for excellent running conditions through the
trees and grasses of Kamloops.
Series points were in hot contention as runners competed for final placings and
the great prizes on offer from Nathan and Montrail.
After all seven events, the final Series winners are:
Female <40
1 - Rachel Nelson
2 - Martha Grant
Female 40 - 49
1 - Donna Mazurkewich
2 - Ann Taylor
3 - Lorie Alexander
Female 50+
1 - Janice Page
Male <40
1 - Baldwin Lee (Baldwin also completed the most Series events)
2 - Brad Dean
Male 40 - 49
1 - Randy Rankin
2 - Ean Jackson
3 - Neil Ambrose
Male 50+

Final standings and photos of the winners present at WITP are posted on the
Series web site www.bcuts.ca
Athletes qualifying for overall Series points must have completed three events.
As mentioned on the Series web site, only the STORMY 50 mile event qualified for
points, and not the 100-mile. The 100-mile will be included next year.
Many thanks go out to all the athletes who participated in any of the seven
races, it is fabulous to see so many people enjoying the wonderful trails
throughout BC.
Credit is due to all the race directors as well. Without them, we would not have
the venues to follow our passion. Make their day and let them know how much you
appreciate their work when you see them next:
Heather McDonald (Dirty Duo)
Paul and Penny Slaymaker (Diez Vista)
Carlos Castillo and Bob Reid (Elk/Beaver)
Kelsy Trigg and the KKNSTR race committee (Knee Knacker)
Shirlee Ross (Scorched Sole)
Wendy Montgomery (STORMY)
Chris Larouche (Walk In The Park)
Finally, many, many thanks to our series sponsors, without whose support the
Series would not exist. Please show your appreciation to them for contributing
to our ultrarunning community:
- Nathan Human Performance Systems
- Montrail shoes
- CarbBoom Energy gel
It has been a great season, and there is much to look forward to in 2008.
See you on the trails,
Bruce Grant
