The rains held off - and so did the heat! - to make for excellent conditions at
this year's Diez Vista 50k. While Brian Morrison, our neighbour to the south,
took the men's and overall title, local Suzanne Evans dominated the ladies'
field and no doubt had Brian looking over his shoulder over the last kilometres
to finish a strong and close second place overall. Congratulations to all the
runners who came out to challenge the course, and many thanks to RD's Paul and
Penny and their fabulous crew of volunteers, and our series sponsors Nathan
Hydration Systems, Montrail Shoes and CarbBoom Energy Gel.
The current Series points after Diez Vista are up on the web site at
www.bcuts.ca
Remember that the next Series event includes the 50k, 50mile and 100k distances
offered at the Elk/Beaver Ultras on May 5, so make your plans to run this
beautiful course in Saanich on Vancouver Island.
Note that the 100k is a qualifier for the ACU 100k National Team, and the 50k
race is the ACU National Championship event. Let's show the country what great
runners we have in BC!
