Most other years, this weekend would be the Hayward Trail Run. 

 

The website still reports that the trail is closed:

 

However I did do a full lap around the lake last Sunday, and the trail is 100% passable.  I think the extensions of the closures actually have more to do with the pollution currently flowing into the lake through Brown Creek (which is currently bright orange). 

 

Bring your own water.  The running water at the Hayward beach area is not fit for human consumption right now.
