Hi BC Ultrarunners,
Many of you know Wendy Montgomery. She is a Brackendale, BC resident, a
full-time worker, a mother of 2 children, and Canada's top female
performer at the 100 kilometer ultramarathon distance. She has been
training and racing over the past year to prepare for the upcoming IAU
100 km World Cup on the island of Hokkaido, Japan (June 26, 2005).
Unfortunately, the ACU (Association of Canadian Ultramarathoners ) has
very minimal funding available. This is allocated to cover
accommodation and meals for all members of Team Canada during the stay
in Japan. Wendy needs direct financial help (approximately $3000) to
cover flight costs, ground transportation, and other basic incidentals.
The World Cup is just weeks away, so support is needed immediately to
purchase a reasonably-priced air ticket. Otherwise Wendy will not be
able to compete.
