Re: [bc-ultrarunning] H2H

Hi Marylene

Thanks for enquiring about this race and about training for Ultras generally.

For info on how to train, check out the article "How to Train for Your
First 50 Miler" written by George Beinhorn.
http://www.oceansofenergy.com/howtorun.htm

You will also find a huge amount of useful information on the Ultrunr
site. There is info here on training, nutrition, injury. The site is
basically designed as a resource site. There is lots of training info there.
http://www.ultrunr.com/

For info on trail running in North America (particularly 100 milers and
California ultras) check out Stan Jensen's Run100s site.
http://www.run100s.com/

For news accounts on the ultrarunning scene, go to David Blaikie's
UltraMarathon World site. Although this covers world news, it is published
in Ottawa and has a strong focus on Canadian news
http://www.ultramarathonworld.com/

For info on the BC trailrunning scene, check out Enzo Federico's BC Ultra
Trailrunning site
http://members.shaw.ca/bcuts/

You may wish to meet and train with other local ultrarunners. In this
regard, the KneeKnacker training runs will be starting up soon. Info on
this can be found on the KneeKnackering site. This is trail running ...
not roads.
http://www.kneeknacker.com/

You may also wish to consider subscribing to the Ultra List. It has a fair
bit of mail volume, but is a wealth of practical info.
Info on how to subscribe is on the Ultrunr site (noted above)

You originally inquired about the Haney Harrison 100K. The website info is
for last year, but most of the info will be the same for 2004.

Info on the race is at:
http://www.bcathletics.org/H2H/Ultra_Info.htm

The "Info Kit" which has a lot of detailed info about the race and has
links to very detailed maps can be found at
http://www.bcathletics.org/H2H/Info_Kit/Ultra_Info_Kit.htm

Hope this helps

Congratulations to all runners who ran H2H this past weekend in the not so good weather(it has been worse!) and a special congratulations to Wendy Montgomery...
