Founded in 1996, Brother to Brother Sister to Sister United, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) organization which maintains this listserv of members and friends of BBSSU, Inc. On August 17, 2008, we did our sixth BBSSU 100 Ride throughout the 8 wards of the District, with 8 beneficiary organizations. See the website: www.1day1ride1cause.org
Throughout the calendar year, some members participate in various rides for HIV/AIDS and other health related events.
Through 2002, we were the largest team and only African-American team in the DC AIDS Ride, a 330 mile bicycle ride from N.C. to DC; BBSSU raised over one million dollars for the Max Robinson Center of the Whitman-Walker Clinic, and Food & Friends. We staff information booths at local health-related expos and sponsor youth rodeos.
