We just mapped out the Soquel High course for Surf City. It was so
much fun that I think I need to go back and ride it some more.

Its fast, flowy and backwards. It should leave you smiling and
gasping at the same time.

As a reminder, Surf City kicks off in two weeks on Oct 15th, for
Tiki Cross!

And here's some more info that went out on the ncnca list today...

Hope to see you all there!

Just a reminder that Surf City #1 is only 2 weeks away. Do you have
your hula skirt yet?

We open the 2007 Surf City series at Soquel High School in Soquel,
with a fabulous edition of Tiki cross. We just peeped out a course
yesterday and it is "may I please have another" fun. Soquel is
usually a fast, flowy course and this' year's edition is no
exception. We've taken out the upper baseball diamond, but added a
new tricky section in the back. And, we'll be running the course
backwards, just because we can.

Also back for 2007 are the famous Gizdich Ranch pies. Mmmm...pie. We
will be giving away pies during the Tiki Cross event to those who
came ready to limbo. Limbo cross is a non-scored event where
everyone will go under the barriers instead of over. Where else can
you have so much fun for only $5?

Surf City welcomes all categories of racers. We offer a clinic on
the Saturdays before the first two events. Clinics are taught by top
local riders such as Sarah Kerlin, Barb Howe, Carmen D'Aluisio,
Stella Carey, Ben Jacques-Maynes, Simon Vickers and other fast and
friendly racers who love giving back to the sport they love. All who
are interested in either learning about cross, or refining their
skills, are encouraged to attend. More info on the clinics can be
found here: http://surfcitycxclinics.blogspot.com/

New for 2007, is our "Are you ready for Tubular?" contest sponsored
by Bontrager. All category B participants (men and women by the
way) who race the first two races on Oct 15 and Oct 29 will be
entered into a drawing for a swank Bontrager Race X Lite Pro tubular
wheelset. The wheels will be presented to the winner of the drawing
during the award ceremonies at the Nov 13 race.

All events include a free kid's race. The kiddie winkies get to race
on their own kiddie sized cross course with prizes to all
participants.

DJ groovings, fancy shmancy expo area, coffee by De La Paz Coffee,
Gizdich apple juice, Cal Giant Strawberries, series prizes,
silliness and serious cross, all under one roof.

More info on Surf City Cyclocross Series can be found here

Pre-registration is encouraged and can be done at Bikereg.com

Aloha,

Sabine
