I don't normally want to engage in politics but this is important.
It sounds like a good "grass roots" movement. You know the kind that
got Obama elected! ;-)

Dear Fellow USPSA members,
As many of you have already heard there is a new bill in Congress
that will affect almost all USPSA members and most gun owners in
general. The bill, H.R. 45, was introduced by congressman Bobby Rush
of Illinois. If passed this bill would require a person to be
licensed before they could own, or even posses, any semi-automatic
firearm with a detachable magazine. It would also ban private sales
of these firearms requiring all sales to be made through a FFL dealer.
Also a permanent record would be kept of all sales, both new and
used.
A group of us has composed a petition asking your respective
reprentative in congress to vote against this bill and any other such
legislation. The idea thing would be for each members of congress,
including Mr. Rush, to receive hundreds of these petitions containing
the names of thousands of their constitutates.
Let's all join together to stop this bill in it's tracks.
Attached is a copy of the petition and a letter to accompany it.
Please make as many copies as you need and forward it to anyone you
wish. There is place at the top to fill in your congressperson's name
and address. Please take them to matches, post in gun shops and
sporting goods stores, and local watering holes when they allow. When
you get a couple, or better yet a few, pages filled up simply mail
them to your congressperson.
By standing together we can stop this bill from becoming law.
Thank You
Samuel L. Finney USPSA # A-44981
