As the smoke clears on California's two-year legislative session, that
ended just after midnight - last night, one fact stands out among the
rest.  We would have been in big trouble if we had not functioned as an
effective team.

During this session, our team defeated many bad bills (ex: AB352
MICROSTAMPING & SB357 AMMO SERIALIZATION), passed good bills (ex:
AB2111 CONSUMER PROTECTION & SB1239 PRIVACY PROTECTION), organized
opposition to regulatory changes, and took our effectiveness to the
next level.  We did all of this while opposing and defeating San
Francisco's Proposition H as well as ordinances designed to attack
firearm ownership, use, and sales, at the local level.

Our team has grown into a political force comprised of NRA Members'
Councils, Calguns.net subscribers and readers, gun/hunting clubs,
retail gun and sporting good stores, political and legislative staff,
gun owners from across the state, NRA's California-based legal team,
and of course the NRA-ILA.  Although we extend our heartfelt thanks and
admiration to everyone that participated with us, special mention
should go to two of these groups.

The subscribers and readers of Calguns.net played a valuable role as
active team-members in the support and defense of the Second
Amendment.  Your support of the NRA and especially the NRA Members'
Council Program has been a great help and we look forward to continuing
to build on our effective working relationship.

If it were not for the NRA-ILA ,and the support from Executive Director
Chris Cox and his staff, our efforts would have not enjoyed the level
of success we achieved.  ILA provided support, guidance, and direction
during some of the most critical moments of this past session.

THIS FIGHT IS NOT OVER

We will all soon be contacting the Governor's Office asking him to take
action on some of the legislation that did make it to his desk.  The
NRA Members' Councils of California are asking that you continue to
work with us throughout this final stage of the process.  Further
information regarding this topic will come in the near future.  Stay
tuned to CalNRA.com so you will know when we ask you to take action.
