for myself, i am uncertain that i have the skill to keep from
embarrassing myself. i don't have a regular practice partner, and am
particularly interested only in the Irish styles rather than
stickfighting in general. while i have had occasion (once) to use what
i have learned in a streetfighting context (and acquitted myself
admirably, i might add: he took one hit to the side of his head and
went down), i'm not sure that i have what it takes for an open,
regulated contest.
