If Nathan's going to do so in a few key situations only, it won't be in April.

Agreed. Terry Francona has (successfully) used Papelbon that way as well.

Since Gardy was suspended tonight, did he have time to watch the last 2 innings of the White Sox-KC game between 5:30 and 6:00?
KC led 8-2 entering the 8th. Sox scored 4 in top of 8th and had runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Trey Hillman then brought in ..............Joakim Soria!!!!! His closer!!!! With 5 outs to go!!!!!!!! Soria induced a pinch-hit Sac Fly from A.J. to make it 8-7, then struck out Uribe. In the 9th, Soria went: Walk, GDP, K to get a 5-out save. KC wins 9-7(they got an 8th inning HR from Olivo).I keep thinking back to the 2-game series at Detroit in mid-April when Neshek, Guerrier, Crain, Reyes, Bass blew 8th inning leads in both games. I think the first game the Twins led by 6 entering bottom of 8th. Nathan never got into either game. Same thing happened in another game recently, too. Those 3 losses may come back to haunt the Twins if they narrowly miss playoffs.
For all the money they are paying Nathan, I would think that maybe 5 or 6 times a year he would be able to pitch more than 1 inning. Not all the time, just 5 or 6 times a year. I can only hope that Gardy was watching that CHW-KC game today.
