I was wondering where to get the data which maps the playerID in the
Master table to the retroID data? Basically, I wanted to cross
reference the play by play data from retrosheet with the Master table
but am unable to do this without the retroID. Is there some simple
algorithm for obtaining the retroID from the name? I ask this since
the number at the end of the retroID doesn't always seem to be
sequential and if two players with the same first 5 letters in the
last name and first initial appear in the same year, how are they ordered?
