Could any of you that are trimming donkeys possibly send me some pictures that show what a normal healthy donkey front and back foot looks like? Preferably from the front, side, bottom and back. I'm trimming two mini donks that had not only foundered, but had been allowed to grow until the feet curled up. The vet took off the toe part, but I'm going to be fixing the rest of the issues. Neither donkey has normal heels, the one has extremely underrun heels due to the feet overgrowing. One has notches on each side wall making their feet a sort of hourglass shape if looked at from the bottom. The one donkey had foundered on all four feet although the back look like they are doing better (as usual) than the front. Both have lamelar wedges and separation of the walls. I know that donkey feet are different from horses, but I don't think these feet are even close to normal for a donkey. When I'm out again in two weeks to do some more horses, I'm going to swing by and make sure the hoof walls aren't growing down too far, take the heels down again and to redo the breakover. I'll also try to take pictures of the feet. Maybe I'll have a better idea of where the heels even are!
