I had the same issue with my horse about 7 years ago when I took him barefoot. We just trimmed to balance the hooves and he never interfered again. It's interesting because the reason I went barefoot with all my horses back then is because my farrier was taking my horse off balance in order to try to get him to stop interfering. Well if you have ever had a foot injury and have had to walk crooked you know the pain that radiates throughout your body. I had such an injury and one day walking to the barn I realized what pain my farrier was putting my horse through - long story short all shoes were pulled and I have never looked back.
