Re: Making my own joint supplement

Thanks Wanda,
I will look into that, it seems anything for horses is so darn
expensive.
I give my horses b-complex, it has helped one of my nervious horses
settle down, but I give them one b-100 that I get from from walmart
for people, my sister-in-law who is a cancer surviver, was told to
take it by one of her many Drs.So if it is good for helping the
immune system of a cancer victom it outa help a my horses! It has 100
mg of all the b vitamins, about the same as a well known horse b-
complex, but I get 40 tablets for about six dollars. A real savings!
You know I am always reading how barefoot trimmers trim a lame horse
and he walks off sound, well I have been hoping that would happen to
Kody, and never has...but today he walked off almost sound!!!!
He had been limping noticably and now you can barely see a limp!
His heels had not been very long but they looked like they were
laying forward, so i thought maybe it is heal pain,(I just have a gut
feeling it is not the ringbone that is bothering him) so the other
day I trimmed them and filed them down, he was much better but still
limping, his toes still looked a little flared but not really long.
Today I took a chance and shortened his toes, and rolled them, that
helped him! I am basically trying to learn this trimming on my own,
so everytime I trim I am hoping I won't do any harm. So maybe he
will get better and become sound, I will just wait and see, but today
he is more comfortable then he has been in months!

Carol
