I just received a new book today called "Equine Podiatry". It is
written by Andrea Floyd and Richard Mansmann. The first 1/3 of the
book is an in depth of hoof anatomy. The last 1/5 of the book deals
with practical application of shoeing/trimming and how to create
a "hoof care team". The middle parts deal with all sorts of
pathologies including a huge section dedicated to laminitis.
It's the most thorough, well illustrated anatomy book I've seen yet
(and my hoof/distal limb library is pretty huge).
Here is an overview of the book with instructions on how to get it:

It's well worth the price if this is an area of interest to you.
