San Diego won the full-length final game 78-76. The lead changed hands at least
twice. San Diego got off to a 23-20 lead in the first quarter. San Diego had
some rather productive jams in the second period, winning it 24-16, taking the
score to 47-36 at the half.

In the second half, L.A. really started getting their game together, outscoring
San Diego in both quarters (24-19 and 16-12) to take it to 66-60 at the end of
the third period.

Team Legit (with Rollerjam and Puget Sound Outcast Derby's Mo Sanders coaching)
beat TXRD's All-Scar Army in the third place game 76-58.

San Diego skater Taryn Hearts suffered a broken clavicle in this one.

L.A. Derby Dolls Ri-ettes: 91+94=185
Red Dirt Rebellion Rollergirls: 1+1=2
Red Dirt Rebellion is very new to this. I understand they went into this as a
learning experience.

Luckily the consolation games for the losers of the prelims were a fair bit
closer.

First consolation game:
AZDD Lady Lux: 23+50=73
Vegas Renegades: 15+9=24

Second consolation game:
Red Dirt Rebellion Rollergirls: 28+26=54
Hurricane Alley Roller Derby: 12+20=32
I've read that this one was a good bit closer than the scoreboard might suggest.
I also heard about a number of ejections and a fight toward the end.

First semi-final:
San Diego Derby Dolls: 28+16=44
Team Legit: 12+19=31
Team Legit seemed to have done a fair bit better in the second half, but not
enough to pull out a win.

Second semi-final:
L.A. Derby Dolls Ri-ettes: 39+25=64
TXRD All-Scar Army: 18+17=35

Third place:
Team Legit: 27+18+14+17=76
TXRD All Scar Army: 16+16+23+3=58

Championship:
San Diego Derby Dolls: 23+24+19+12=78
L.A. Derby Dolls Ri-ettes: 20+16+24+16=76

From what I saw on the video feed, TXRD did a great job putting on the
tournament. Refs and non-skating officials came in from across the country to
help out with this.
