The National Roller Derby Hall of Fame announces its annual
celebration of the banked track sport, this year in Los Angeles on
February 14, 2009, with a gala luncheon honoring the 2008 NRD HOF
inductees and Roller Derby in the 'City of Angels.' Those elected
to the New York-based National Roller Derby Hall of Fame in 2008
include skaters DARLENE ANDERSON, MARY GARDNER, BILLY LYONS, PAUL
MILANE, DAVE POUND & GERTIE SCHOLL along with Announcers' Wing
inductee, DICK LANE & Executive Wing inductee, WILLIAM GRIFFITH,
Sr. The NRD HOF will also celebrate Roller Derby in Los Angeles as
exemplified by the legendary L.A. BRAVES & THUNDERBIRD franchises.
Many former members of both those teams, along with fans from across
the country, will attend this 'Valentine to Los Angeles Roller
Derby' celebration.

This once-in-a-lifetime event takes place at a luncheon on Saturday,
February 14 from 12 Noon to 5 PM at the Embassy Suites Hotel in
Downey, California (8425 Firestone Boulevard, Downey, California

Tickets for the NRD HOF Valentine's Day luncheon MUST be purchased
in advance. Tickets are $50 for skaters & family, $75 for fans &
$125 for the NRD HOF VIP package which includes VIP seating at the
luncheon, souvenir program, souvenir t-shirt, souvenir hat plus an
invitation to an intimate dinner with Hall-of-Fame members on Friday
evening, Feb. 13. PLEASE NOTE: Our event is open to all who love
Roller Derby and want to celebrate the accomplishments of its
incredible athletes. No one will be turned away. If you are a
