If there were at one version of the true
Roller Derby that exists at a national level, any variation of that would be
expected or accepted. But, it is sad that the true Roller Derby is not in
place where the variations are.
I watched Rollergirls tonight from my home
in
Who sabotaged the Roller Derby any way?

Rollergirls
Don't you hate being the first one to post about a
topic, especially
when you have very little good to say?
Okay, the one good thing I will say about the
league and the show is
this..the girls seem to be having fun.
Okay, the rest. The show was so bad I couldn't
even watch it all. I
just left it on while I was doing other things. At
least half the
show had no skating in it. It showed the girl
acting like immature
kids. TeePeeing and egging houses and cars of
opponents, arguing,
getting drunk and dancing and showing off their
rears. None of which
I found the least bit interesting.
Then there was the skating. Strictly
amatuerville. Mainly just
pushing and pulling, girls tripping over each
other, huge pileups and
dragging people down on the track while they wore
their cheap sleazy
outfits which the guys loved, I'm sure the main
reason most people
came to the game. I assume nobody got any
penalties because there was
no spinning of the penalty wheel they showed, so
we were saved seeing
girls doing the spank alley thing or other silly
stuff.
I really wish I could say some good about the
show. I love roller
derby like crazy and love skating it. To me this
show and those
leagues aren't derby. But hey, they're having fun,
so I guess that's
good.
