"Aussies Were Swayed Too Much By Success"   Message List

It was the time of celebrations for Aussies. Hip hip hurray! These words were on their tongue, during the presentation ceremony of ICC Champions trophy. It seemed to me that they got swayed away by their success. In sheer happiness, they forgot their manners and Damien Martyn pushed Sharad Pawar to get aside. Now they are portraying themselves innocent by telling that the mistake was unintentional.

Just tell me, what one should think about Aussies. Ricky Ponting tried to defend Australian side by saying that, “we did not mean to offend any Indian cricket official”. On the other hand, he was criticized for gesturing at Pawar to hand over the trophy and move off from stage. In fact, cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland said that, “the way Australian team has been portrayed by Indian media is really disappointing as our players have due respect for India”.

It looks as if Aussies were dancing under the spell of their success. They didn’t know that they are insulting a top cricket official. No doubt that Australia is world champion, but they should have enough etiquette to maintain their respect level. I think that they have to watch out their behavior in future and learn to respect other countries officials.
