Imagine being a fan outside your team’s general area and wanting to catch
every game on TV. It is possible, but too bad monopoly cable companies,
like Comcast, would prefer that you can’t.
Sports cable providers, such as Comcast Sportsnet, are blocking rights to
their coverage of sports games from satellite providers that would allow
fans from different places in the country and even the world from accessing
game broadcasts. And their reason? To maintain their monopoly over sports
broadcasts. How fair is that?
Sign up at http://www.comcastwatch.com/action/ to lend a voice for sports
fans like yourself that the cable companies shouldn’t be able to stand in
the way of your catching the game.

I placed a set of 100 DIFFERENT Orioles players on Yahoo Auctions.
I'm getting rid of all my cards.
If you save a certain player or team (all sports) email me at danburry@...
and I'll let you know what I have.
I have about 230,000 cards and about 300 graded cards.
Be patient and I'll run a search for you. Meanwhile check the set on Yahoo
Auctions.
I read in the newspaper this morning and saw that we were trying to
trade Jeff Conine, our RBI leader, for Derrick Lee of Florida, and
they want to trade Tony Batista, our HR leader. We are probably
losing Sidney Ponson after this season, so must we lose every good
player we have?
Hi there,
I am the moderator for the Aberdeen Ironbirds Yahoo Group. The

ahead of time.
Sincerely,

Hi I am new to the list.
I live in Iowa now, but spent a lot of time on the
East Coast and got infected with the Oriole bug. Loved
especially the 83 season with all the come backs and
saw game 2 of the World Series in Philadelphia.
Would love to hear everyone's greatest All-Time
memories of the birds.

I agree. I don't have anything to say bad about
Mike Hargrove. I like him. They should bring up the
young stars like Minor, Pickering and Garcia. I saw
them play in the Arizona Fall League when they were
here and they did a great job. They should also bring
up Ivanon Coffie that played third base this past
season. He is a really nice guy.
I am a big Orioles fan and I live in Arizona. I
have been a big Orioles fan my whole life. I was born
in Baltimore. The players I totally love are Cal
Ripken, Brady Anderson, ex-Oriole Mike Mussina and Ryan
Minor. I would like to hear from anyone that lives in
Arizona or that is a huge Orioles fan.
The Orioles as a hole will keep losing with them
aquirering old veterans and not promoting within their farm
team system. You know the old Oriole way; I do not
have anything to say bad about Hargrove, but the rest
of operations has to go. When was the last time
Baltimore had a World Series ring(1983)? Just bring up the
kids and let them become major league stars in time to
produce a championship team in a few years.
Minor,Pickering,Garcia. I could go on forever.
I know I am not the only serious minded Orioles'
fan living in Boston, I'm sure of it. I just can't
find any others. Well, if you're like me, I think we
should get together, find a decent sports bar -- with
satellite TV -- and convince them to show all the O's games
this year. Then we can pack the place every night!
Whadda ya say?
Yeah right, all I know is Baltimore has another
sub .500 year with one of the largest payrolls in
MLB. Now the idiot Angelos will probably compliment
this collection of stiffs with some more over paid
bums like Joey and the Thrill, maybe the Big Hurt will
come over, he and Joey did a lot for the White Sox.
He'd be perfect maybe the O's could crack the 80 win
barrier with the Hurt. the Thrill, and Joey. Who needs
pitching?
Albert always says how he thinks of role models
as peoples parents. he shouldnt be someone parents
sit kids in front of the tv to model themselves
after..he always says role models should start in the home.
It's the price of being a celebrity. Whether he
likes it or not, his status as a professional athlete
makes him a role model for young kids and subject to
scrutiny. Kids look up to these guys as heroes and try to
emulate them. Some guys handle the media and all the
attention better than others, McGwire, Sosa, Ripken. But
lowlifes like Belle, Strawberry, Michael Irvin, Leon Lett
can't seem to handle the spotlight and do stupid things
that get publisized. These guy make more money in one
year than most of us will make in our lifetimes and a
lot of us resent the fact they turn their backs on
the source of their fortune, the fans who buy the
tickets, buy the gear that helps pay these guys. They want
to do drugs, pick up hookers, run over trick or
treaters and not be held accountable for their
actions.
The american public also loves it when celebrities
screw up. Is Orenthal ever going to remembered for his
football career? No, he'll always be known as the football
star who got away with killing two people.
Why do his off the field things really matter so
much to you? Somethings are just none of our business,
we are just nosey. If I had people monitoring me
everyday I would snap too.

MikeMartin

he is tied with the babe and among many all time
greats. I think you should appreciate that! Eight
straight years of 30 hr's and 100 rbi's.
Even though he
has some off the field troubles he still has been a
great consistant baseball player.
