Re: Springville Apple Run

More on The Apple Run. I know I already sent out an email about
this one, but this is a really well run event. I am very
disappointed that I can't run it again this year, but I am hoping to
spread the joy to the rest of you.

The following is from an email sent out from the event director.

*Top Ten Reasons to Sign up for the Springville Apple Run*

10. Get a great race shirt. Regardless of how you do in the run or
walk, you will look fast and impressive in a Cool Cat^TM ^
race^
shirt by Leslie Jordan.

9. Start the Springville Apple Festival weekend feeling fit and
invigorated. Then you can tackle the Apple Festival food booths with
a
clear conscience.

8. Run/walk a beautiful course on a private ranch in the foothills
overlooking Springville.

7. Register online at no extra charge thanks to Oacys. You will save
the
$.39 stamp plus you won't have to lick the yucky envelope.

6. Get a great parking spot for the Apple Festival.

5. Win a hand-crafted award made by real people from Springville.

4. Support the Springville Community Club.

3. Enjoy the delicious post-race refreshments grown right in
Springville
like Bear Creek Apples & Pleasant Valley Oranges.

2. Win one of the fabulous Springville raffle prizes like dinner at
the
Springville Inn or a roll of "Apple Red Duct Tape", the official
duct
tape of the Springville Apple Run.

1. If you don't feel like running, you can sign your kid up for the
Half-Mile Kids Run (but you keep the shirt!)

The Springville Apple run will take place on Saturday, October
21^st .
The action will start at 8:00 am with the exciting Half-Mile Kids
Run.
At 8:30 am, the main event begins with the adults undertaking the 5K
Run
(3.1 mile), 10K Trail Run (6.2 mile) and 2-Mile Walk courses. At
approximately 10:00 am there will be an awards ceremony in the
Springville Park for all participants. Following the awards will be
a
fun and lucrative raffle thanks to the generosity of the local
Springville merchants.

Pre-registration for the Apple run is required. All participants
must be
registered by October 17^th . Online registration is available at
the
Apple Run website, http://springville.ca.us/applerun
