Greg,
Could you send this out with your update. My e-mail just won't let me sent it to that many people
Thanks
Hi all of you Grand Canyon hikers,
I have been looking into the possibility of a bus for the trip. I contacted Orange Belt and Classic Charter. Orange Belt didn't call back. Classic Charter called and gave me some good information. They have a 35 passenger bus that will accommodate 35 people and all of their gear. For a trip from Bakersfield to the South Rim, to the North Rim, to the South Rim and back to Bakersfield the cost is $3639.00 plus a room for the driver.
It sounds like it could be affordable and very convienent. I haven't yet seen the bus, but the woman I spoke to said we could take a look at it, she indicated that it would be comfortable for up to 35 people and has plenty of room for luggage and gear. She also said that we are looking at the beginning of the busy season and that the sooner we reserve the better. If there is enough interest from the group I will check on reservations and cancellation policy. Depending on how many go on this adventure the cost per person could be as low as $120.00 or, well you do the math. Anyway at this point without holding anyone to a firm commitment if you are interested in the bus e-mail me. If there is sufficient interest I will go to Classic Charter next week and discuss reservations, deposits, cancellations and the latest date to pay in full. See ya at Moro bay Saturday.
