Subject: High importantce!!! Fundraiser for Mary Benson
This is about my friend, Mary Benson. Please pray
for her. Losing her speech takes away the most positive
thing in her life...her singing. She was a part of a group,
called Spinnaker, and it was her passion. Her son, Max
is about 22, wheelchair bound and mentally handicapped.
There has never been a father in the picture. She recently
lost her job, and her father, whom she was living with, died.
He had just put a large second mortgage on the house, so
She was facing having to find a new place to live.
Mary Benson Sung at my mothers funeral and has been a co worker for
20 years she cared for her father for at least that amount of time who
suffered a stroke, As well taking care of her Son. All of this with no
outside help. Her day job was taking care of multiple handicapped children
And then she went home to provide care there.
Her one true joy was singing professionally. It was her only outlet from her
day to day existence. She dearly loves her son who was all that was left to
her. He is now a ward of the state. She will be released soon from the
hospital. It is unknown where she will stay at this time.
Sincerely,
Douglas Bailey
To any of you who have not heard yet,
Mary Benson had a stroke on Monday, Sept. 10th
and has been in the hospital recovering.
It is not sure whether or not she will recover
completely but the hospital will be releasing
her on Wednsday, the 26th. We have been
told that she will need constant care and as
yet we have not decided where she will be
staying.
Her house is being packed and put into storage
until she can be moved into a permenant residence.
She has lost her speach and vision in her right eye.
Her equlibrium is off and is having a hard time
getting around on her own.
There will be a fund raiser for Mary at the Horsebrass
on October 20th or 21st to help with her medical
and moving expences.
She is now at the Providence Hospital on SE Gleason
in the Accute Rehabilitation Ward, K4 wing, room 36.
Her son, Maxwell has been temporarily placed in an
adult care facility. He will have to be moved into a permanent
facility as Mary will no longer be able to care for him.
I am sending this message to everyone in her address
book. If you know of anyone else that isn't on the list
and should know of Mary's condition please forward this message.
Thank you..
Todd Benson
(Mary's brother)
