Hi refs,
Home stretch now.  There's just this Saturday and then 6/2 for the regular-season games (and just Sun 6/20 for PCSSL).  I just realized not all of the U8B games got transferred for 6/2, but I'll fix that this weekend so they'll show in Arbiter.

For tomorrow though, there are a few slots still open.  Lots of folks are up helping with Concord Tournament, so for those of you refs who have been looking for a chance to come out but couldn't yet, this is your big chance to fill one of the few openings.

   As of Friday am:

U8 (Stevens Creek):  9 games, 2 slots still open
  • CR slots at noon, 1pm

U10 (Kennedy Middle School):  5 games, 4 slots still open:

  • noon (AR), 1:30 (2 AR), 3pm (1 AR)

U12 (Regnart):  1 game, 1 slot still open:

  • 12:30 AR

Thanks again,

Rex

R35 refs,
Thanks again for your support last weekend.  Remember to enter your scores.
Also remember that there's still one more day on Saturday 02 June.  The games are all in, so sign up early and audit.

And for those interested in how MLS referees see the world, there's a talk this Tuesday night in Saratoga (free).
Rex

Attention SJSRA Members and all other local Soccer Referees--

The monthly meeting of the San Jose Soccer Referee Association will be held
on TUESDAY, May 22nd,starting at 7:30 PM in the Community Room at
the Saratoga Library.  See the website at www.sjsra.org for directions.

Non-members and guests are welcome and there's no charge to attend, so please

Peter Fletcher (with help from his friends).

Agenda for the Meeting is as follows:

7:30-8:00     For the Good of the Game

Open discussion of your questions and issues.

8:00- 9:00    How to Excel as an Assistant Referee

All of us work twice as many games as an AR than as a center,
and even more if we’re starting out at a new level.  So we have twice
as many chances to impress (or to fail) as an AR.  To recognize the
importance of this job and the critical, game-changing decisions that
ARs make, we have a professional MLS AR to teach us the differences
between being merely a good AR and being a REALLY GREAT AR.
Colin has work many MLS games over the last 4-5 years and can share
his experiences, his training regimen, his areas of focus and the
discipline needed to perform well at this critical position.  He’ll share
lots of tips on how to look good, get the calls right, and how to really

Hi refs,  we need some help to fill the slots on the last day of Spring soccer this Saturday 02 June 2012.  Let's finish the season well!

Openings as of Thursday morning:
U8 at Stevens Creek (5 game slots still open):
  • Openings at 11am, Noon (2), 1pm (2)

U10 at Kennedy (9 of 15 slots still open):

  • Openings at 10:30 (AR), noon (CR+2AR), 1:30 (CR + 2 AR), 3pm (2AR)

U12 at Regnart (8 of 9 slots still open):

For the more experienced referees, we also have a request from Evergreen (Holly Oak field) to help with their U14 "mini-tournament" so check Arbiter if you're interested.

Remember Fall Region 35 Registration events in June coming up at Union Church in Cupertino:
  • Friday 01 June 7-9pm
  • Saturday 09 June, 5-7 pm

You need to turn in a new VOLUNTEER FORM each school year, so try to come by and drop it off at one of these events! (There is an end-of-summer registration on August 4 as well).

Thanks,

Rex

R35 super refs,

As Rex mentioned, this is the last of the spring season games so let's have a full coverage. I will be passing R35 RRA torch (figuratively) to Rex after the games - one more reason to show your full support. And if that does not inspire you, above all it is for the kids - with nice weather in the cards let's finish on a high note..

Please do not forget to take advantage of the early bird discount by registering your child (that you plan to have in the Fall program) tomorrow for the Fall season - see announcement went out below. I will be helping you with the red carpet treatment at the registration. This discount has been put together to reward volunteers like you. Be sure to bring your 2012-2013 volunteer form. Youth refs planning to volunteer in 2012-2013 season are also required to submit volunteer forms - please use your parent's account in eayso.org.

Regards,

-Mahesh

The list should be sent via e-mail to the commissioner (commissioner@...) and the registrar (registrar@...) ahead of time.
  11. In case of any disputes or conflicts, commissioner's decision will be final.

R35 referees,
OK, games start this Saturday 08 September at all sites.

All the games EXCEPT U10B are in ARBITERSPORTS.com, so please LOG IN and select a game.  If you have trouble with your account, please email me back at rra@... soon so I can fix it.

The U10B will get finished late tonight, so they should be up by noon tomorrow (Tuesday 9/4).

  • U8 (Boys and Girls) for Cupertino home field is at Stevens Creek Elementary school.
  • U10 Boys will play at Kennedy Middle School, MIDDLE field (again, these will be loaded by noon Tuesday)
  • U10 Girls will play at Kennedy Middle School, TRACK field.
  • U12 Boys will play at Faria Elementary School
  • U12 Girls will play home at Regnart
  • U14 Boys and Girls home field is Kennedy HYANNISPORT field (near street).  No games at Garden Gate this season!
  • U16/U19 games (Madison League) will all be on Sunday.  For upper-level referees, the U16/U19 informational meeting is at Graham MS at 7:30 on Tuesday 9/4.

Thanks, and we REALLY REALLY need you out on the fields.  Let's have a great starting Saturday for the kids!

Rex Wright

R35 Referee Administrator

P.S.  For you NEW REFEREES, I will be hanging around Stevens Creek on Saturday to watch and cheer the new folks on doing their U8 Center, and Kyle will be at Kennedy (watching the U10 AR).

P.P.S.  For the RETURNING REFEREES, that means we really need your help in the older games (U12, U14).

OK Refs,
Opening weekend.  Returning and beginnings, let's get out there.  If you're nervous, Kyle and I will out on the pitch for mentoring the first two Saturdays:
Rex will be at Stevens Creek, so new folks, sign up for U8 there and I can cheer you on and give you pointers.
Kyle will be at Kennedy, so new folks (or rusty old ones), sign up for U10 there and he can cheer you on and give you pointers.

Of 38 slots this week, we still have 18 available:
U8 (Stevens Creeks):  CRs available at 10, 11, noon (2 at noon, actually)
   U10 Kennedy: 1 AR at 10:15, 4 ARs at 11:30
U12G Regnart:  Need CR and both ARs at 11am
U12B Faria:  Need 2AR at noon, 1 CR and 1 AR at 1:15
U14G Kennedy:  Need AR at 1pm

Thanks again.  Use plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of water; we need you all season healthy!

R35 Refs,
Thanks for a great turnout.  For our opening day (38 slots) we managed to fill all but one (only one club linesman).  Special thanks to those who did more than one game, and special welcome to all the new recruits (see it wasn't so scary, was it?)!  If you were a center, be sure you enter those scores, too!

Now let's keep it going.  Next week has 37 slots to fill again, and I hope to see you out there again.

And get more new recruits out, too!  I'm still planning to teach one more Online Companion Class for Basic Referee this Thursday night 9/13, 6:30-10pm at Cupertino Sports Center.  Send them to

Likewise if you covered a center and can't enter the scores, let me know and I'll edit the game so you will show as center.

Thanks again for all your help.  Four weeks gone now, and coverage was good.  Let's keep the momentum!

Region 35 refs, great opportunity to keep in shape over Thanksgiving.
There is a "Turkey Tournament" up in the peninsula (Burlingame area) to which some of our R35 teams are going.  Each team needs to provide referees.

We need your help.  If you can help, please email MAHESH BHAGAT (mahghagat@...) above who has been identified as the R35 Referee Contact for the Turkey Tournament.

The forms need to be in soon, so please let Mahesh know.  The tournament has lots of teams spread all over so it's a lot of fun, and good way to see lots of different styles of teams.

Thanks for your consideration,

One week from tonight, here in Cupertino, the San Jose Soccer Referee Association is hosting Kari Seitz.  She is a great speaker, and started as a Youth Ref, and has now done more FIFA World Cups than any other US Referee.

I highly recommend it, both for experienced refs and for the youth refs.  It's at Quinlan Center.

all channels of communication to make sure no one is left out.]

The monthly meeting of the San Jose Soccer Referee Association will be held

Non-members and guests are welcome and there's no charge to attend, so
