Fellow Refs,

Make sure you see the Evite that was sent to you under a separate email for the fabulous AYSO 43 Thank You Party.

I'm not on the leadership team, I'm a fellow ref who went to the party last year. I got buried in the all the emails we all get with being busy parents and just saw the Evite today and Ben's reminder. When I RSVP'd this morning, 200 of us have not RSVP'd yet (even if the answer is no).

I didn't want anyone to miss the email.

My family and I had a great time at the party last year. It was a full buffet yummy dinner including applause for some of the really outstanding refs and coaches that give a lot to our community....including yourselves. My kids had a great time seeing friends, eating dinner, and just a good time.

This is one of the few volunteer things in life that I have done that hosts such a nice party (at all) AND invites the whole family (can't hurt for the kids to see their parents getting thanked..plus they find it super fun).

Don't miss it! RSVP's are due THIS TUESDAY!

Even if you can't make it, it would probably help the organizer know that you got the communication if you RSVP no. (though I hope you will come)

About San Bruno Turkey Tournament

Region 43 Coaches,

Thanks for your cooperation this season with helping to fit all the teams onto the practice fields, especially with a number of teams having 2 practices per week.

I know that many coaches have already talked with other teams that practice before/after them to figure out how to share the fields over the past few weeks, so the late teams were able to get enough practice time before it got dark. Please continue that for this week.

Here's information on the new, revised practice time slots for the remainder of the year, starting on Monday Nov 5:

- If a team is currently practicing at Almond/Rosita from 6-7 or at Santa Rita from 5:45-7:00, then their new practice field slot is from 4:45-5:30 (since it will get dark by ~5:45)

- If a team is currently practicing at Almond/Rosita from 5-6 or at Santa Rita from 4:30-5:45, then their new practice field slot is from 4:00-4:45.

This way, all teams get 45 minutes on a lined field. This required shift is especially important on busy days, such as Tues & Thurs at Almond & at Santa Rita, when the fields have been full from ~4:45 until dark.

If you practice on a day that has relatively few total teams practicing, and if there are not any other teams coming to your half-field before or after your team's practice, then you have the flexibility to keep your practice time as it is or to shift it to any time slot you want.

We appreciate that it could be tough for the early teams to get to their practice field by 4:00, but we need to make this shift to accommodate all the extra practice slots this year given that many teams are practicing twice a week.

Field space will open up during the week of Nov 12. The U12 teams have their Region tournament on Sunday, Nov 11, and only the four U12 teams (2 boys & 2 girls teams) that qualify for the Area tournament in early-December will continue practicing. U10 teams have their Region tournament on Saturday, Nov 17, so the U10 teams will continue practicing during the week of Nov 12.

Before/after your team's assigned practice time slot on a lined field, you're welcome to practice on any other open lined field that doesn't currently have a team assigned to it. You likely know which half-fields those are, since you've seen them as you've been practicing for the past two months. You may have to share that open field with other teams who also want to practice before/after their time slot. Plus, you can share the grassy areas around the lined fields.

Also, if your team will be moving from 2 practices per week to only 1 per week, please let me know (plus the other coaches who practice at that time with you) which day/time/field you will no longer be using so we'll be aware of open fields that other teams can use.
