Welcome to Awareness Saddlefitting. This is a discussion list for those who wish to know more about saddles, how they fit, how to recognize poor fit, what to expect when a saddle does not fit, and how to correct or address poor or improper fit.
Not everyone has access to a trained, professional saddle fitter or solid, common-sense saddle fitting information. What you will find here is just such information, along with input by a professional equine massage therapist and bodyworker, and a professional equine behavior expert.
Saddle fit is affected by more than simply the shape of a horse's back or width of his withers. Proper saddle fit involves a thorough knowledge and understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, gait analysis, and balance. At Awareness Saddlefitting, we strive to bring these elements into everything we do and everything we teach.
