First - I would like to offer a sincere apology if I ever came off
rude to anyone, especially when it comes to volunteers. We get a lot
of "constructive critism" from many different sources and sometimes my
jovial responses can be misconstrude. I have never intentionally been
rude and mean no disrespect. Forgive me.
Second - thanks to the responses that back the county, it can be very
easy to blame the guv'ment for all the problems. Locally, however,
this county government (at least the Natural Resources branch) is
truly trying to keep people and nature's best interests in mind and
offer appropriate opportunities for all our constiuents.
Third - with all the talk about volunteer opprotunities, I just wanted
to let you know about the upcoming volunteer work day...
SCP Disc Golf Volunteer Work Days:
Saturday, January 20, 10am
Sandy Creek Park Visitors Center
Join us the 3rd Saturday of each month to help finish the 27-hole
disc golf course, and earn hours towards a season pass and
commemorative disc! Projects include privet and brush clearing,
digging tee pad placements and post holes for signs, etc. Please wear
long pants and closed toe shoes, bring gloves if possible. All tools
are provided. Call 706-613-3615 x227 for questions or to sign up.
Thanks,
Carly Robinson

about 5 months. I wanted to come but prior engagements kept me from
being there. Maybe if you scheduled more work days it would offer
more flexibilty for potential volunteers. I believe this would
alleviate part of the problem. Also, whenever I have offered
constructive critisizm to Carly, the volunteer coordinator, she very
rudely replies with something like "well why dont you get out here and
do it". First of all, I have to pay to get in the park as well as an
extra dollar to play disc golf but I am expected to get out there and
complete the course. Where does that money go? Certainly not towards
completing the course. Secondly, how am I supposed to come out there
and volunteer my time and efforts if there are no workdays scheduled?
