on in juniors and ITF $25k tournaments more intresting.

This was of course only natural. None of us could have predicted
what happened.

It is intesting to think about things from IMG's point of view. One can
see that in the second half of 2000 and in 2001 they heavily
promoted Ashley - and very successfully too. They pull strings
with the media and control or influence many of the wildcards in
big tournaments.

In 2002 promoted Maria Sharaopva in a similar way to the way they
promoted Ashley, and this has really paid off in a big way. I
guess she needed to win more - not so likely to have comfortable
life if she had to go back home and be plain Mrs Whoever.
Also whatever Uri's faults, he and Maria have preserved their
relationship really well.

From IMG's point of view, all the work they put into Ashley
has not paid off very well.

Whether this is better for Ashley is a difficult question. Life
on the tour is not a bowl of cherries for the players -
remember they got there in part because it was one or both
of the parents who had a dream.

Brianna - I have a load of spare prints of photos from Belgium in
2001 (400-450 prints, about 40% of Ashley). I asked Danny if he
wanted them, but he did not reply. Do you want them? If not I
with throw them in the bin.
