boxwood bill would like to host another tourney down in aiken, maybe this coming weekend on the 29th or the 30th. just a one day thing. we just want to gauge interest level, so respond and let us know if you're interested and which day you prefer. we can carpool down in the morning and back in the evening.
here is the email I recieved from the Mountain Sports Festival,
showing interest in having bike polo be a part of it. I am out of
town for a while. SOmeone can get in contact with her and set it up
maybe?
Hi Dan,
Saw the article today about Bike Polo, and wasn't sure if you'd be
interested in doing an event or demo at the Mountain Sports
Festival? The festival is at Carrier Park, May 30-June 1, there is
some more info on our website www.mountainsportsfestival.com (which
is being updated and re-released Jan 1.) Or feel free to contact us
for more info!
Great photos!
Thanks,
Christen

What a bunch of hooligans. Hey Hugh....camera's over here!!
let's try to get more than 3 players for this. Anybody that's played, now's the time to come out and bring someone with you. I think 4-4 would be the minimum to keep us from looking totally lame.

I've spoken to nine people who have committed to showing up on Saturday:
Dan Joey Randy Drew Matt Zed JS Kiley Me
Nathan, Janet, and Bowlesie need to show up, too. Anybody else? I called Tara to come out again as well.

if anyone has something exciting to say about last weekend's
tournament, boxwood bill needs some quotes for an article he's
writing.

and here it is. it was much bigger in newsprint, though.

let's (dan and i) meet at Joey's house at 6:45. i'm assuming you got the car to drive down? we want to leave by 7 so we can get there in time to get ready and warm up for our 11:00 match. drew is driving down on his own since he's already in spartanburg.

Saturday: Dan Hugh Joey Drew (Joey and Drew will drive back to Asheville Saturday evening)
Sunday: Dan Hugh Randy Nathan (Randy and Nathan will drive down from Asheville early Sunday to replace Joey and Drew)
We really need everyone to make it, or we won't be able to field a full team, and that would suck.
We still need jerseys, but I'm sure we can borrow some from
Bill if we don't get them in time (Randy?). We still need to work out ride arrangements and a place to stay Saturday night. I'll ask Bill again about some host housing.
Questions, concerns? Let's get this finalized today so I can tell Bill this evening.

dan and i are down for both days. right, dan?
joey for saturday only. can't you just have church on the polo field?
i'll pray with you.
randy for sunday only. has to pay the mortgage.
nathan has a gay rock-climbing gig but might change his mind.
drew?
we need 4 for each day. so we really need either nathan or drew to
commit to both sat and sun. or one for each day. the more the
merrier...
randy was looking into jersey options.
i spoke with boxwood bill earlier; told him i'd let him know our plans
by tomorrow so he could get all the names, teams, and schedules
aligned.
c'mon guys, let's play some polo. see you at 6.

I hear ya. It's hard to moderate your polo doses when it's so damn good. I settled into a rythm of choking, missing and bobbling game after game for a while...but that's the way it goes I guess. Even when your getting demolished it's still fun as shit though. Another thing.....let's not let the rules get in the way of the fun. I think it's really good we are following them, but, everyone should
understand that when a foul is brought up, it's not a personal attack. Just trying to get everyone on the same page........and I think we need one more regular out there. We always end up with 2 on 3, or 4 on 3. We need one more to make a 3 on 3, or 4 on 4. Know anyone?

"I hope you guys can get a team together for the 17th. If it makes it
any easier, I think we can get the whole tournament played off in one
day with only four teams (Unionville, you guys, and two teams from
here). We could have two semi-finals in the morning and two finals in
the afternoon, with a break for lunch so no one would have to play two
games back-to-back. Alternatively, we could have two games Saturday
morning, two games Saturday afternoon, and two games on Sunday, so that
each team could play one game against each of the other teams. If the
cyclocross conflicts would make the Saturday-only schedule better for
you, let me know."
