Eriksson has more than once said that not qualifying automatically is
out of question , yet surely if England stumbled he would find himself an
excuse and lay the blame on others , but the important question is that will
the FA cover him up and accept his reasons or even find him more ones ? , the
most important point is that if England are not good enough to qualify easily
from such an easy group , how will they impress and lead among the world best
football teams ? . I do not know why Mr. Eriksson is so dear to the FA. I have
been following the English team for more than twenty five years , and they have
never get better than reaching the second stage in any competition except in
1990 world cup ,and this time will surely be no exception, so what
difference has Eriksson made to deserve this special treatment or to justify
being one of the highest paid manager in the world ? . No one of his
predecessors has enjoyed such support , privileges , and facilities
, as well as to have a squad like the current English team , yet Mr.
Eriksson has not improved on the managers before him , as a matter of fact
Eriksson is enviable for the quality of the players he has , yet England is
struggling in comparison to the top nations .

One day, hopefully sooner than later Mr. Eriksson will depart, so what
has the FA? Planned for? , or will they continue their habit of making
inappropriate choices , as they never thought of Jack Charlton though he made
miracles with the Irish , or ignoring the late Clough when he was at his best ,
or overlooking Venebeles when he was the best choice rather than the only
choice , or not being patient or tolerant enough to Hoddle as they were to
Robson or are to their darling Eriksson , and the list can be longer , so the
problem is with the attitude of the people running the game , why do the
managers in English football in the clubs and the national team are
untouchables until causing the collapse? Simply look at the relegated teams
every season they seldom sack a manager before they get relegated although it is
obvious very earlier in the season that the team would not recover in time,
certainly no one would accept interfering in others business but, close
monitoring,
reassessment and examination, would certainly bush the manager to be at his
best always and to avoid failure before it happens, don't every manager do the
same to his players, so why don't the FA. or the club directors do the same to
the managers they employ.

The German or the Dutch federations are no lesser than the English FA,
if not greater , yet the put their confidence in relatively inexperienced ,
former heroes , so can the English afford to appoint the likes of Steve Bruce
, Sam Alardyce , Alan Curbishly ,or even Shearer , Sheringham, Adams , or any
other of the old guards , supervised may be by Boby Robson , or other
experienced protégé to make up for the lack of experience ? . It looks doubtful
that the English cold blood would get warmer.
