Mark,
I will not make the meeting, but am keen to be part of things. Obviously distance and four children inhibits what I can do though.
Long term I'd like a club in Tamworth like you have in Armidale, which really means a good bunch of people to form it and a track or tracks for us to develop and use.
In my mind the most sensible way to work towards this goal is the extend your club down the Moonbi's to attract the people/membership in Tamworth, which hopefully with time will bring the opporunity to access land and hence tracks to develop, and then events to hold etc. In other words a North West branch of the New England Club
Presently I am working through school to get more and more young people into the sport and I have a few good mates I ride with regularly.
As discussed I am happy to trial a social ride which may become a regular thing every 4-6 weeks down here for the club which I will advertise in the local bike shops.
I'd like some ideas from you guys though on what you really want or don't want. I certainly do not want to create any issues for the club so I am being totally up front in my ideas.
Please let me know what is required, and what you guys would like. As mentioned previously I am happy to take on a role of social ride co-ordinator in Tamworth. This will hopefully help increase club membership and develop the Sport down in my neck of the woods. Anthony Clarke a mate down here would also probably be my partner in crime.
Cheers
Steve Mair
