RE: ride this Friday

This Friday afternoon at 4pm a few of us are going for a ride at the pine
forest to check out the regular course for Sat's race. Anyone else who would
like to come along for a 'trundle' is welcome. This is specifically with a
purpose for those who have not yet raced to learn the course and we will not
be racing but riding at the pace of the slowest rider. However, all are
welcome to come along!
If you are keen, it'll be great to see you at the second gate at 4pm on
Friday.

Kind Regards,

Subject: [armidalemtb] Four cross on Sunday

As some of you may know, the girls met up for a ride at the 4 cross
track on Sunday for some informal instruction in technical skills and a
bit of fun. There were half a dozen of us brave (or stupid) enough to
face the cold and mud. The rain held off so that we got a few runs down
the track under the instruction of Sally.

Several girls had not ridden the start ramp before and took the
opportunity to give this a go. The biggest challenge was staying
upright on the bike through some very thick slippery mud provided by the
heavy rain which fell the day before. In some cases it was apparently
easier to jump over the berm than to roll round it, this was
demonstrated (twice I think) by Candice!

Cath and Annie took to the track with great style keeping themselves
(but not their bikes) relatively clean while Sally and Amy managed to
ride and jump their way into covering themselves and any one else who
went near them in mud.

Thanks to those girls who could make it along, we all had a great time,
so if you couldn't make it, make sure your there for the next girl day
out!
