Hi everyone!

 

Sorry for using this list to pimp an event, but I figured it's ultimate related, so some of you may be interested.

 

This Friday night, the 2009 Ultimate Showcase Series is kicking off with Slow White vs. Cambridge at 8 PM at Charlestown High School. 

 

Every year, some of the best players in Boston compete on several hat teams (for the Open division, teams are Boston, Cambridge and Somerville; for Mixed it's Boston, Cambridge, and club team Slow White) in order to demonstrate the sport of Ultimate Frisbee for the following purposes: to attract and introduce young players to the sport, to showcase the local talent, and to present the sport in a fan and media friendly environment. Please come out and cheer/heckle the teams as they kick off this season's games!  Before the games, there is a clinic in which the players will work with younger players to perfect their throws and run drills, and during halftime, there is usually a contest with prizes that may include a Showcase disc or a giant tosser, among other goodies.
