USA Junior Olympic Boys Volleyball Championships Ready for Phoenix

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Approximately 300 teams from all across the
country will be flocking to Phoenix, Ariz., for the XXIV Annual USA Junior
Olympic Boys Volleyball Championships July 2-8.

The tournament will be held in the Phoenix Civic Plaza, with the help of the
local host, the Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Bureau is
working with USA Volleyball, the National Governing Body of the sport.

Boys 12-to-18 years-old will be competing for gold medals in both the club
and open levels. The age classification for the Boys Junior Olympics are as
follows: 16 and 18 club and open (July 2-5); 13 club (July 2-5); 17 club and
open (July 5-8); 14 and 15 club (July 5-8); and 12 club (July 6-8).

Only teams that finished in the top of their age group in a national
qualifier or first in a regional qualifier win an outright bid to the
tournament. At-large bids are given to teams that did not win a bid at a
qualifier but still proved to be one of the best in the nation by finishing
at the top of their division in national competitions.
