This is all the information on the 18th edition of Rocky Point Mexico
beach volleyball. Held twice a year in April and October, each event
has a different theme. All info and registration forms are found at

Rocky Point Cartoon Carnival Beach Volleyball Tournament Oct 12,
2002

"Cartoon Carnival" is this October 12, 2002 theme. All teams must
have a 2-word cartoon or cartoon character as their team name. Format
will continue to be coed 4's with one female minimum. Divisions will
be A/Open, B, Recreational, and Masters (all over 35). Mandatory pre-
registration entry fee is $120 per team and is due before 5PM, Friday
September 27, 2002. Late entry is $150 from 5:01PM Friday Sept 27 til
5PM Friday Oct 4, 2002.Entry fee must accompany a completed
registration form from the webpage( www.outtatownproductions.com ),
or the handed out flyer. Chicken scratch on a post-it will not get
your team in anymore! We are moving to the Princesa Condos beach now.
Maps will be sent to team captains upon registration. A block of
condos is going to be held for players and their friends/families.
When calling to reserve, you must mention Outta Town Productions
Volleyball to get our negotiated rates at the Princesa Condos. These
are awesome 1, 2, 3 bedroom condos with full kitchens, 1, 2, and 3
bathrooms. There are 3 swim pools, a work out area and an air

night and sleeps 8. 3Bd 3Ba upper floor is $275 night, sleeps 8. 2bd
2ba ocean view 1st floor is $185 night, sleeps 6.2bd 2ba ocean front
1st floor is $200 night, sleeps 6. 2bd 2 ba upper ocean front is $185
night sleeping 6. 2 bd 2 ba upper ocean view is $170 night sleeping
6. 1 bedrooms sleep 4 and 1st floor runs $145 and upper floors are
$130 per night. THERE IS A $100 CASH DEPOSIT THAT STAYS AT THE CHECK-
IN DESK AND IS REFUNDED AFTER CHECK-OUT. THESE ARE PEOPLE'S PRIVATE
CONDOS, SO PLEASE TREAT THEM LIKE THEY WERE YOUR OWN. OTP again will
have a block of rooms at the Best Western Playa Inn, for those
wishing to stay closer to restaurants and bars. Call 602 547-1613 for
those reservations. Full suites will sleep 6 and are $100 per night.
Mini-suites will sleep 6(no kitchen) and are $90 per night and
studios will sleep 4 and are $80 per night. NO GLASS ON THE BEACH!!!!
We will try and get a beer rep to supply beer in plastic containers.
Rules: 1.No player may play on more than one team!! Not even in
different divisions. If your team is short, there are plenty of
players in the crowd to draw from, or you play short-handed. 2.All
serves are to be pass received or with hands locked, no hand sets or
open hands. 3.Serves hitting the net are a sideout. 4.No player can
make ANY contact with the net or the poles, including hair and
clothes. 5.No contact under the net at all(for safety) 6.No arguing
with the ref or 1 point penalty will be issued. 7.No arguing with
tournament director or forfeit penalty issued. 8.Tournament director
reserves the right to re-classify teams. 9.Pool play games will be 15
minute timed accumulative scoring. All teams advance to double
elimination tournament. 10.Tournament games will be to 15, cap at 17
or 20 minutes, whichever comes first, for ALL divisions. 11.Warm-up
time is 5 minutes only, between matches. Airhorn will start and end
games. 12.No day-of entries allowed. 13.ALL PLAYERS must be on the
beach at 8:15AM to sign in and receive player shirts. At this time,
there is no limit of teams set for each division.
