Copper Meadows Schedule   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #196 of 614 |
Hello all,

I am including a link to the Copper Meadows year long schedule.  We just held a one day, full phase show that went really well.  There are more planned, along with the three main events.

The one day shows are extremely low key, and a great way to school the cross country or school a level above yours.  Carolyn, owner of Copper, puts together stadium courses from Elementary to Prelim, and flags a condensed cross country course for those levels as well.  For example, on the Elementary stadium course there were five cross rails, and on the cross country there were six elements, all logs on the ground.  It is a good start for a young horse or inexperienced eventers.  On the Prelim cross country riders jumped the trakhener, corner, the water and a few fly fences.

As a rider at the one day shows you can ride just one individual event or you can ride all three.  You can also pay for extra rounds, so if you want to jump the Beginner Novcie show jumping and then try the Novice, you can come into the ring, have a go at the BN and then immediately jump around the Novice.  Everything except dressage is run on open gate.  You can also perform any dressage test you like.  If you want to tackle the four star dressage test and then jump around Novice, you can!

The one day shows are held on Sundays, and the Saturday before there is a cross counrty clinic.  The two trainers on site, Jennifer Wooten and Sarah Vandenburg, coach at the clinic, but any trainer with insurance can come for the Sat. clinic.  There is more info. on this if you follow the link.

The bottom line is that these shows are all about fun and safety.  There is no pressure-coaches can give advice from the side of the stadium ring, you can wear whatever you like, and you even get ribbons and prizes if you are signed up for the same level in all three phases!  I hope that all can make it to one of these events, and if not, then to the three days that we have throughout the year.

If you have any questions about Copper feel free to email me!
