Hi all,
I am the oldest future olympian in this group, and am new to areaviadultriders
as of a couple of days ago.
I am from Ireland, born in Kenya, spent teen years in England; moved to the
US in 1993, to Palo Alto.
My mental age is 15, my passport age is 45, and my back and my neck and
knees are all 145 and appropriately crunchy.
I have been training with David Adamo in Petaluma for almost a year, and am
very happy to have switched from a HJ barn, which was also fun and
essential precursor to all this fun. I'm looking forward to my first show when
the time (and the horse) is right. For the moment I get to ride my trainer's
amazing horse Charlie, as I do not own a horse - will be in the market for nice
been there done that sort of horse, sometime in the spring.
My wife Debi rides only occasionally because she's a mom and her two
teenager boys think horses are strictly for girls. We've been back to Ireland
twice together and have hunted with the Island hunt, in Gorey, Co' Wexford,
and made it back in one piece.
Apart from riding I also ride mountain bikes (where I get thrown much more
often) and snowboard. I am permanently retired from rugby, skydiving, go-kart
racing, and disco dancing.
