something is going on with the create new acct link on the registration site. i will be attending the tournament and would like to sign up to guarantee a spot. let me know what the next move should be.
If anyone here is hoping to play in the Manitowoc Ultimate Hat
Tournament on July 26th, I'd encourage you all to register ASAP after
registration re-opens on Monday. I'm hoping to have all slots filled,
and I can only guarantee you a shirt in your size if you sign up by
Tuesday. After that you're guaranteed a t-shirt, but if your size
runs out, then we'll have to get you a different size.

Hey all. A few of us are getting together tomorrow at 6 PM at the Fox
Valley Technical College field for some fun with a disk. It's not a
game, like on Wednesdays. It's more like a practice. We may toss, we
may drill, we may even run a little bit. Format hasn't been decided,
so come out and let us know where you want to improve.
The field is at Bluemound and Northland. If it doesn't sound like your
thing, no problem. We'll see you on Wednesday.
I was just about to mention the new FVO. Obviously for that one you
need to be part of a team, so talk to Scott.
The ManHat takes individual registrations and teams will be drawn
prior to the tournament. It's pretty low key, and we're constantly
working to try to line up goodies. The standard is official t-shirt
and disc (discraft ultra-star of course). We should have the free
window clings, and will have the raffle for goodies donated by VC
Ultimate (Ultimate DVDs, hats, membership cards). We're hoping Copp's
will donate water and bagels/bananas again, which was huge for us last
year.
So we're working in Manitowoc, all you guys need to do is sign up.
Details at http://www.mufc.us/tournament as Tony said. If you have
any questions or problems with the registration website, don't
hesitate to email me.

We had 5 on 5. All people from the Thursday night pickup
games (Green Isle park last week) and UWGB students. Fairly informal (used
an Aerobi disk, no stall count, modified box end zone, open sidelines…)
but fun. I was pretty beat. I won’t be around the next
several weeks. Check Facebook for updates regarding next week.

Ah but Tony THERE is a tournament in Appleton approaching even sooner than the MANHAT!
The Fox Valley Open...July 12-13 at Neenah's Memorial Park! Co-ed and Open, we are trying to get ultimate up and running in this area. This is partly why I've not been at pick-up the last couple of weeks, sorry all. And I wasn't 100% positive that it was going to happen, but we're going to try because we have teams registered. So all those in the area who want to play on a FREE team for this tournament you can e-mail me at:

Dear Appleton Ultimate Member,
As you may or may not know, we here in Appleton don't host a
tournament of our own. With the logistics involved, the glad-handing
with corporate sponsors, the insufferable participants that always
want more for less… it seems foolish to even try. Well, one such
fool is Don Seiler from Manitowoc, and he's terrific at it.
The 2nd annual Manitowoc Ultimate Hat Tournament is July 26th. Last
year, a few participants carpooled from Appleton, and we'd like to
try and get a group together again. Unfortunately, carpooling is the
only service we can provide. Going to the tournament site http://www.mufc.us/tournament and registering for a spot in the
tournament is your responsibility. The following is information
pulled directly from the website:
--Participants must be 18 years old or older
--Cost is $20, and includes a t-shirt and Official Tournament Disc
--Players will be asked for a t-shirt size and a skill level upon
registration
So please, do what you have to do (ask off of work, cancel that trip
to Disneyworld, and most importantly, go to http://www.mufc.us/tournament and register) and I look forward to
seeing you there!

We are going to start playing on Sunday evenings in Green Bay. I'll be there this week but not the following 2 weeks. There is also pickup ultimate on Thursdays at the same time and
place. Hope to see you there. -Kevin
Ultimate on Sundays at 6:30, Broadview Soccer Complex (off from Libal St between Broadview Dr and Hwy 172; see link to map)
Nick and I will not be attending poultry days but the Milwaukee team is looking for women if you or you know some one that is interested in playing disc next weekend email. Scooter at scotts343@...
Just a reminder that we will be playing today at 5:00 at Appleton Memorial Park, the Noon Optimist Field. As usual, bring a light and dark shirt, cleats, and water.
Two weeks ago someone left a pair of sunglasses behind. Please drop me a line or claim them tonight if they're yours.
Finally, I'm moving out of town in a week and a half, and I'm looking for someone to take over this list. If you want ultimate to continue in the area, we need someone to take the reigns. Let me know if you're interested. It's set up for an easy conversion. You can use this email and become the new moderator of the group.
If you're anything like me, today feels like Monday, so it's weird to think about playing ultimate tomorrow. But we will be! Don't miss the opportunity to play ultimate on what feels like a Tuesday but is really a Wednesday!
As usual, Appleton Memorial Park, 5:00. Bring a light and dark shirt, cleats, and water.
Serena
*Sorry if noone was there last week. I know several of us were out of town, but I will be there tomorrow.*
Just a reminder that we will be playing this Wednesday at 5:00 at Appleton Memorial Park. We'll play in overcast skies and light rain, but not if there is heavy rain or thunderstorms. As usual, bring a light and dark shirt, cleats, and water.
Last week we had 12 players. Let's aim for a game of 7 on 7 this week!
I would like to see what we have for numbers. If you plan on going tomorrow please respond. thanks Jeremy

Thanks to everyone who voted. We will continue to play a competitive game on Wedsnesdays at 5:00, starting this week! Currently we will stay at Appleton Memorial Park, but we might switch to FVTC, per Jeremy's suggestion, depending on availability. Watch your email for updates.
I know there were a few people who preferred weekends. I'm looking into joining with another area group on Sundays, and I will let you know what I find out.
Also, if you're interested in a non-competitive game, email me at appletonultimate@yahoo.com and I will inform you of other opportunities.
But, let's get out and throw a frisbee, tomorrow, 5:00, Appleton Memorial Park. Bring a light and dark shirt, water, and cleats.

It probably goes without saying, but I will be there. I agree, please let us know if you'll be coming. As usual, we'll be at the Noon Optimist Soccer field, on the Northwest side of the park (by softball diamond six and near the Capital Drive entrance.)

Hey everyone I have found out that the fields at Fox Valley Tech off of 41 are for public use and they are first come first serve. This location I feel would be good for everyone seeing as how it is in the middle of the fox valley area. If anyone is interested in getting a tourney team together with practices please respond. If once again the fox valley cannot support a Ultimate team I would be more than interested in traveling to Madison to get some good disc is. Well have a good day and hope to see all real soon.
That's right people, look for a HUGE, BIG, GIGANTIC ANNOUNCEMENT next week on April 30 or in the paper on May 1 about ultimate frisbee coming to the fox valley among other great sports in 2009! I'm not at liberty to really tell you yet because it's not been made official to the general public, but if you e-mail me personally I may tell you... scottsawinski@...
Thanks and let's play some ultimate!
