This e-mail should've gone out several days ago, but I became engrossed in my
own stuff and let this relatively easy responsibility slide. Sorry about that.
We've had pretty mediocre numbers at Ultimate the last couple weeks. Therefore,
borrowing from the old theater tradition, "always leave 'em wanting more," games
are going to be a little more scarce this spring.
I'd still like to play once a week, but games will be called, rather than
assuming we'll have numbers. If Lawrence has several people that want to play,
someone will call a game. Likewise, if 12 of your relatives are in town for a
reunion and are going to get a game going, it'd be great if you would post that
game to this group so we can get our weekly Ultimate dose.
Another decision made recently by pick-up game attendees is to seek games in
other locations, and to pull players from a wider geographical area. Deebs
posted an invite to play at UWGB this week. In the future, someone may call a
game in DePere, so that Green Bay and Appleton players can get together, or we
may ask Oshkosh players to meet in Neenah. We know that people in the area want
to play. Hopefully, our newfound flexibility will result in more quality games,
and more people exposed to our sport.
I think that's all I had to say. Take it easy.
